It took about 10 minutes of seriously looking at all that is involved with planning a modern traditional wedding before I realized it wasn’t for me. If I was already stressed out after only 10 minutes, there was no way I was going to put myself through that for 10 months. I threw out all my preconceived notions about weddings along with all my wedding magazines and started to plan a destination wedding.
After some discussion with Joe, we decided on Hawaii. We both had never been there and felt it would be the perfect place to get married. Since we’re both adventurous and don’t like overly populated tourist traps, we choose the island of Kauai. Kauai has a lot to offer for those who like to be adventurous such as hiking, kayaking, biking, surfing, snorkeling and stand-up paddle boarding. There are plenty of beautiful beaches for relaxing and soaking up the sun. I know I loved the brightly colored umbrellas and chaise lounges when I went to Clearwater, FL so I hope to find something similar in Kauai. I burn easily so I don’t last very long in direct sunlight.
I’ve been working with a travel agent and hope to have the final plans worked out soon so we can get everything booked!
